The 1920s have been eminently glamorized in popular culture, perhaps more so than any other decade. In addition to speakeasies, flappers and jazz, the decade gave rise to the Art Deco design movement, characterized by geometric patterns, metallic accents, curvy silhouettes and bold uses of color. If you’re gearing up for an Art Deco revival in the roaring 2020s, these seven furniture pieces will add elegance and just the right amount of glitz to your interiors.
1. Gold Art Deco Full Length Mirror from World Market, $199.99

It’s not vain to keep glancing at a mirror when it’s this beautiful, right? The central full-length panel is flanked by two ‘wings,’ providing greater depth and interest.
2. Phoebe Tiered Fringe Floor Lamp from Urban Outfitters, $129.00

Fringe was essential to 1920s fashion (think flapper dresses) and eventually emerged in interior design, where it served as embellishment for furniture and lighting pieces. This floor lamp is nearly five feet tall and features tiers of cream-colored fringe and a brass-looking base.
3. Petal Accent Chair by Drew Barrymore Flower Home from Walmart, $379.05

Shell-back chairs were all the rage during the Art Deco movement, and this modern iteration from Drew Barrymore’s Flower Home collection comes in three different jewel tone colors (yet another staple of 1920s design).
4. Vivien Bar Cabinet from West Elm, $559.30

Bar cabinets are quickly replacing bar carts as the must-have furniture piece for those who love to mix up a cocktail or two. The ‘dry’ (wink, wink) bar cabinets of the 1920s tended to be curvilinear and made of highly polished wood, but we like this 2020 update on the painted gray finish.
5. ETTA marble console table from Structube, $299.00

Has there ever been a more glamorous duo than marble and gold? This skinny console table is perfect for a narrow entryway or adding interest to a big blank wall. And for less than $300, it delivers luxury on a budget.
6. Callie Fringed Ottoman (Black Cranes) from One Kings Lane, $295.00

Chinoiserie patterns regained popularity during the 1920s and 30s, and cranes were a common motif. This handcrafted ottoman combines two Art Deco design trends and is generously padded, promising “outstanding comfort and support” for your weary feet after a night of dancing The Charleston.
7. Delacroix Black Metal Queen Bed from The Home Depot, $516.35

I’ve seen similar versions of this Art Deco-inspired bed frame for double the price (looking at you, Anthropologie) and was thrilled to come across an affordable alternative from Home Depot of all places. The scalloped headboard and footboard feature gold detailing for a dose of vintage charm.
