HAP Investments’ 329 Pleasant Avenue in East Harlem has broken ground.
Named HAP 5, the Karim Rashid-designed building will rise eight stories tall and have 20 apartments. Located one block east of First Avenue and 117th Street, the development will have retail space on the ground floor. TPG Architecture is the architect of record.
The developer acquired the property for $1.125 million in 2012, according to public records.
HAP Investments has been all over Upper Manhattan and East Harlem, with projects at 419 East 117th Street, 247-249 East 117th Street, 2338 2nd Avenue and 1655 Madison Avenue. The firm also purchased a big development site at 215-219 West 28th Street in Chelsea. Lastly, it’s in contract to buy another site at Journal Square in Jersey City, where “HAP Tower” will rise.
