A modest warehouse conversion is going down/up at 426 Willoughby Avenue in Bed-Stuy.
The site, located on the corner of Sandford Street, is a block away from a Home Depot. Permits filed on Tuesday call for three more stories atop the existing one-story structure, bringing the building’s height from 16 feet to 48 feet. The building’s 10 units, encompassing 7,397 square feet, would start on the second floor; the first floor would be renovated into 3,241 square feet of commercial space. Freyer Architects is the architect of record. The conversion would also have residential storage and a laundry room, according to the Schedule A filing.
The Department of Buildings permit lists the developers as Marc and Scot Fishman, founding partners of Edith Court Properties. Previous projects by Edith Court include a 2007 conversion of a meat storage facility into a medical clinic for Kings County Hospital at 722 Myrtle Avenue.
Department of Finance public records show that JMS Realty Corp has owned the property at 426 Willoughby since 1997.
