New apartments are in the works for 432-436 Keap Street in Williamsburg.
The existing property is a warehouse on an L-shaped lot between Hope and Ainslie streets. The building traded in May 2014 for $10.6 million, according to Department of Finance records. The address of the buyer, Keap the Hope LLC, corresponds to that of Blue Zees Real Estate LLC.
The Blue Zees site says that the developer is “currently planning a 55,000 square foot, 6 story, residential condo building with ground floor commercial in rapidly developing East Williamsburg.” Department of Buildings permits have yet to be filed.
The site is a block away from 467 Keap Street’s Ainslie Tower (also dubbed “Leaning Tower of Williamsburg” by Curbed). The curved-in 10-story, 29-unit development at Keap and Ainslie streets, in the making since 2007, hit the market in 2012 as rentals, Brownstoner reported. A few of the apartments were also available for purchase, asking between $675,000 for a one-bedroom and $1.967 million for a three-bedroom.
