A new residential building will spread its wings at the corner of Greenwich and Barrow streets in West Village.
100 Barrow Street, also known as 643 Greenwich Street, will have 15 stories and 49 units, according to a plan exam application filed November 4th. The land is owned by the Church of St. Luke in the Fields, located on the same block. The 161,001-square-foot project will be designed by Barry Rice Architects, who also did the neighboring St. Luke’s School, an elementary school affiliated with the church.
The new building will have storage, a gym, a playroom and two crowning duplexes — one on the 12th to 13th floors and another on the 14th to 15th floors.
Here are some shots we took of the property, which is currently being used as a parking lot:
The new development will be right next to a cluster of pretty townhouses on 90-96 Barrow, pictured below. We imagine that whole tree-lined, cobblestone, “look-at-me-I’m-in-West-Village” thing will be a major selling point.
