Insight Property Group is moving along with its redevelopment of 1411 Key Boulevard in Rosslyn.
Formerly known as the Washington Vista Apartments, the 32-unit apartment complex will be demolished to make way for a 42-unit luxury project, according to the developer’s site. The apartments will have stainless steel appliances, hardwood flooring, granite countertops, full-size in-unit washer/dryer and balconies or terraces. Amenities will include garage parking with elevator access to all levels, a gym, lounge and a rooftop terrace.
In 2009, Insight Property Group purchased the property for $6 million total — $5 million for the Washington Vista Apartments at 1411 Key Boulevard and $1 million for an adjacent house at 1541 Colonial Terrace for accommodate extra density, the Washington Business Journal reported. The seller was Diamond Rosslyn LLC.
“Vista is an extremely well located property within walking distance of two metro stations and the Key Bridge,” Michael Blum, principal of Insight, said in a statement at the time. “Our plan is to invest significant capital into the property and reposition the asset over the next several years.”
The first phase of renovations includes signage, landscaping, balcony repairs and windows. The second phase entails kitchen and bath renovations. The project was originally slated to break ground in 2011.
The redevelopment is targeting LEED Silver Certification, with a construction start date of 2014.
