We’ve spotted new renderings for 1554 Market Street, Trumark Urban’s development in the Civic Center area.
Located along the north side of Market Street, between South Van Ness Avenue and 12th Street, the building will rise 12 stories tall. Permits for the $41 million project were filed in November 2013.
The developer’s site indicates that the mixed-use building will have approximately 120 new residential units and up to 4,500 square feet of ground-floor retail. The project will be designed by Handel Architects, according to the site of The San Francisco Housing Action Coalition.
Trumark Urban is a San Francisco-based subsidiary of Trumark Homes, which has headquarters in Danville. Until recently, the California developer has mostly focused on townhouses, flats and single-family homes near Danville, Concord, Martinez, Palo Alto, San Leandro, San Jose and Walnut Creek.
1554 Market Street is one of five development sites that the firm acquired in 2012, the San Francisco Business Times reported. The other sites, all slated for condos, are 645 Texas Street (95 units), 1545 Pine Street (120 units), 346 Potrero Street (75 units) and 923 Folsom Street (120 units).
The renderings, posted on the site for Dolmen Consulting Engineers, reveal two mid-rise structures extending from a podium.
