A new eight-story building is coming up at 2238A Amsterdam Avenue in Washington Heights.
The 80-foot-tall, 10-unit project will rise between West 171st and West 172nd streets. The building will have 5,000 square feet of commercial facility space on the first and second floors, as well as full-floor units on the seventh and eighth levels.
Long Island City-based Kambanis Architect, PLLC is the architect of record, according to the plan exam application filed yesterday. The developer is Hisham Elzanaty.
The property, located on a 25-foot-wide lot, currently contains a 750-square-foot garage. As of February 2012, there was a lease in place for a three-year term with a demolition clause, allowing the owner to terminate at any time to develop the land, according to the Ariel Property Advisors listing. The property traded for $750,000 in August 2013.
