A crop of six new townhouses is coming to a block-long stretch of Carroll Street in the Columbia Street Waterfront District.
We spied permits filed for six three-story buildings at 29-35 Carroll Street, between Van Brunt and Columbia streets. The single-family residences, designed by Brooklyn-based Fractal Architecture PLLC, would each have a private roof terrace, according to the plan exam applications filed September 26th.
A demolition permit has been filed for the existing low-slung warehouse on the lot.
The developer is Marshall Sohne, president of Columbia Street Partners.
One of the most prolific Columbia waterfront developers, Sohne is also planning an energy-saving passive house at 107 Union Street, The New York Times reported in March. The building, two blocks north of 29-35 Carroll Street, will have an elevator and a garage fitted with an electric car hookup.
