A big ole’ 58-story residential building is planned to rise at 42-12 28th Street near Queens Plaza.
Located between 42nd Road and Queens Plaza South, the 477-unit development will be designed by Goldstein, Hill and West. The developer is Heatherwood Communities.
Rising 596 feet, the project will have ground-floor retail, storage, bike storage, parking, a third-floor pool, gym and roof terraces on the 45th and 58th floors, according to the plan exam application filed October 1st.
Demolition permits were filed June 2012 for the existing two-story building on the lot.
The project will be right by Heatherwood’s 27 on 27th, a luxury rental. The 27-story building, located at 27-03 42nd Road, offered studio to two-bedroom units. 27 on 27th leased out all 142 apartments in August. Amenities included a furnished rooftop deck, gaming lounge with second-floor sun deck, library lounge, screening room, gym and 24-hour concierge.
