A new 34-room hotel is in the works for 489 Baltic Street in Boerum Hill.
Located between Bond and Nevins street, the hotel will rise four stories and 50 feet tall on a 50′ by 100′ lot. Kutnicki Bernstein Architects is the architect of record, according to permits filed July 18th. The hotel will have an eating and drinking establishment, office space and a conference room in the cellar, with guest rooms starting on the first floor.
The site is home to a 1962 warehouse measuring 5,732 square feet. Partial demolition permits for the existing structure’s facade were filed in May.
Listed on the new building permit as a general partner is Alec Shtromandel, who was behind the 43-room Union Hotel at 611 Degraw Street in Gowanus. Shtromandel is also collaborating with Matt Abramcyk on an 82-room, four-story boutique hotel at 645 Union Street, Capital New York reported.
