Upper West Side luxury condo conversion 498 West End Avenue will be hitting the market this fall.
Last month, we reported on the changes coming to the century-old limestone and brick building. Located between West 83rd and West 84th streets, the development will have three- to five-bedroom residences designed by CetraRuddy. Earlier this summer, the Landmarks Preservation Commission approved a reconfigured entrance, new cornices and a 4,000-square-foot addition to create a penthouse.
Developer Samson Management acquired the 12-story rental property in 2012 for $52.5 million — a record for a rental building with fewer than 50 units along West End Avenue, The Real Deal reported.
“Everything we do will be true to the character of this extraordinary early 1900s building — from the design of the residences, to the restoration and reconfiguration of a beautiful wrought iron door,” Samson Management CEO David Kershner said in a statement.
Pricing will start at approximately $3 million, according to the new teaser site. Construction is slated for completion in Spring 2015. Halstead Property Development Marketing is handling sales, which will launch in September.
