A new-construction wind is blowing at 516 West 162nd Street in Washington Heights.
The vacant lot between Broadway and Amsterdam avenues will grow a six-story residential building with 20 apartments, according to the plan exam application filed May 21st. ARC Architecture + Design Studio is the architect of record.
The 13,729-square-foot project will have a laundry room, private storage, bike storage and two duplex units on the fifth and sixth floors.
The 3,997-square-foot lot at 516-518 West 162nd Street traded in 2004 for $715,000, according to public records. The building is slated to be completed in Fall 2014, according to construction signage. We walked by the site and took a photo of the rendering by ARC:
