Williamsburg new project alert!
A development site at 679 Grand Street has sold for $1.8 million in an all-cash transaction, and the buyer is planning something residential.
The property, located between Manhattan and Graham avenues, consists of a two-story mixed-use building measuring about 2,125 square feet on a 25′ by 100′ lot. It was delivered vacant and came with roughly 10,000 buildable square feet. The sale price translates to $180 per buildable square foot. The original asking price was $2.25 million, according to the listing.
Massey Knakal’s Mark Lively and Brendan Maddigan handled the deal. “This will be the site of a new high-end residential building on an emerging corridor in Williamsburg,” Lively said in a statement.
According to Maddigan, the coming building will be “one of the first ground up projects on Grand Street to be started since the July 2009 rezoning.”
Plans were filed in December 2013 to enlarge the lot’s existing two-story building to a six-story structure with 12 apartments. That proposal was disapproved.
