A mixed-use, 45,000-square-foot project is in the planning stages for 810 Flushing Avenue in Bushwick.
Located on the corner of Beaver Street on the Williamsburg border, the new seven-story building will have 42 apartments. Permits filed yesterday call for 6,438 square feet of commercial space, 29,198 square feet of residential space and 9,259 square feet of community facility space. Charles Mallea is the architect of record.
The development will include a day care on the first floor, attended parking for 34 cars, 21 bike parking spots and a residential lobby. The irregular corner lot at 810-816 Flushing measures about 9,700 square feet, and the site is currently occupied by a one-story commercial building, home to two stores. The most recent retail tenants are a 99-cent store and Flushing Deli & Grill (open 24 hours, fried chicken, hot & cold sandwiches, breakfast, lunch, soda, cappuccino, coffee lotto, cigarettes, newspaper, says the awning). No demolition permits have been filed yet.
According to public records, the current owner is M G Paper & Twine, which purchased the lot in 1986.
