With spring in the air, one can’t help but think of all the outdoor activities available in the area. Erin Mills Athletic Fields, for example, is located just down the road from Downtown Erin Mills and is home to the two large fields used by the Erin Mills Soccer Club. The House League is rated #1 in Ontario for community soccer programs, developmental soccer programs and competitive soccer programs that are run for boys and girls of all ages. The club offers both Indoor and Outdoor soccer programs for boys and girls ages four years to adult, at levels ranging from recreational to advanced house league to select up to elite-level rep programs.
Nearby is Erin Mills Twin Arenas, also on Unity Drive. This facility offers spring and summer skating and hockey development programs for beginner to experienced skaters.
From Downtown Erin Mills it’s a 12 minute walk to Erin Meadows Community Centre with its 25-metre swimming pool, multi-function activity studio, and public library. The community centre also offers a long list of activities for all ages, from ballet and ballroom dancing to martial arts.
Some people think another way to keep fit is the “sport of shopping”. Erin Mills Town Centre, is across the street from Downtown Erin Mills, and offers premiere shops and restaurants, as well as special events such as Prom Style Tips – going on until March 28th. Part of the Erin Mills Town Centre massive update, an April 11th celebration will mark the New Food Court Opening. Or, do your groceries at the Loblaws just around the corner on Glen Erin Drive. There’s so much to do right outside your doors at Downtown Erin Mills.
Of course, residents of Downtown Erin Mills won’t have far to go to stay active, since both towers will share the onsite 17,000-square-foot Recreational Centre.
