Braestone Horseshoe Valley, a charming community of single-family estates in Oro-Medonte, has won not just one, but two prestigious awards at the 2016 Canadian Home Builders’ Association (CHBA) National Awards for Housing Excellence.
The project, from Barrie’s Georgian International and Richmond Hill-based Fortress Real Developments, racked up both the Best New Home Community of The Year — 2016 and the 2016 Best Low Rise Sales Office in Canada awards recently.
“I’m extremely proud of these two awards,” says James Massie, Georgian’s international president. “It is a reflection of the hard work, innovative thinking and quality craftsmanship practiced by everyone in our real estate division.”
David Bunston, the builder’s executive vice president of real estate, says it’s an honour to be recognized with these awards, and explains what it means for the builder.
“We believe it is a testament to the quality, design and ambience of the very special community we are building at Braestone,” he adds. “We know this will become an exceptional environment for the generations of homeowners who will call Braestone home.”
When designing the 566-acre estate community, the award-winning builders turned to the surrounding area for inspiration, Massie explains.
“Featuring a simple, yet strikingly modern interpretation of ‘country style design, Braestone homes are influenced by the farmhouses, sheds and barns of the Oro-Medonte Region,” he says.
Architecture isn’t the only way the Horseshoe Valley is reflected in the 59-home community. The region’s rich agrarian history lives on in Braestone as well.
A 108-acre working farm will operate on site, yielding fresh locally grown produce, a place for horses to graze, and a catalyst for a tightly knit community.
“For its residents, Braestone Farm will be a deeply meaningful and sociable experience of a vanishing but beguiling way of life,” say the builders.
Braestone’s distinguished Discovery Centre and model homes can be visited at 3246 Line 9 in North Oro-Medonte, Ontario, from 12pm to 4pm Monday to Friday and 11am to 4pm on weekends.
The community is just minutes east from Highway 400’s Horseshoe Valley Road West exit.
Prices at Braestone start in the $500,000s and homes range in size from 1,120 square feet to 2,760 square feet.
