Back in 2012, we learned that Deerhurst Golf Cottages in the Hunstville broke ground. Skyline, the builder behind the 39-unit project, wasn’t afraid of the cold temperatures of the Canadian Shield: they kicked construction into high gear and have moved steadily along with creating the new enclave of cottages since the fall.
Situated on the Highlands Golf Course, one of two courses at the Deerhurst Resort, the cottages will have unparalleled access to the nearby greens plus the other resort amenities when you’re not teeing off. For adventure-seekers, there’s plenty of opportunity for boating, hiking, horseback riding and come winter, snow tubing and snowmobiling. Or just relax and take in a local show and enjoy the spa.
But don’t let the term “cottage” fool you. There’s no need to rough it in the wilderness. Deerhurst Golf Cottages boast expansive windows and tons of natural light, and the vaulted ceilings keep the spaces feeling airy. And while most cabins and family cottages feel like relics from another era, the spaces were designed in a fully contemporary style.
Curious about just how soon you’ll be able to set foot into your own cottage? We just got our hands on pictures of the construction progress since the ground breaking last fall:
