If you’re looking for a relaxed hangout spot and some comfort-food like fried chicken and cheese on toast, Bar Fancy is the place.
If you’re in the mood for a friendly and intimate dining experience, look no further than Nana (785 Queen Street West). Not only does the chef and owner, Monte Wan, make friends with everyone in the restaurant, but he also makes a unique and satisfying version of pad Thai he calls “pad mama.”
The short walk from Ten93 Queen West to hot-spot Boralia (59 Ossington Avenue) is well worth it. The restaurant’s natural decor will transport you to the forests of BC, the place the husband and wife owners left for Toronto. The menu serves up some interesting yet traditional dishes like pigeon pie, smoked whitefish and stuffed onions.
Just a hop, skip and a jump over to Dundas Street West from Queen will take you all the way to Argentina. Well, it will take you to the rustic, Argentine-style grill house, Branca (1727 Dundas Street West), which is close enough. Suckling pig, lamb’s leg, chicken, ribs abound, making it the perfect place for a protein-packed feast.
