Ten93 Queen West’s sleek kitchens come with a long list of outstanding features and finishes. Own one at this Pemberton Group community and your chic urban lifestyle will include kitchens with custom-style cabinetry, quartz countertops, work surface lighting, an island with quartz countertop (where applicable), ceramic tile backsplash, and pre-finished engineered wood flooring.
Plus, the modern appliance package includes an integrated counter-depth fridge, ceramic cooktop, built-in convection oven with stainless steel finish, integrated dishwasher, microwave and range hood (or combo microwave/range hood), and stacked washer and dryer. Bathrooms have a custom vanity and sink, soaker tub, frameless glass shower (where applicable), and champagne bronze-coloured fixtures. Some designs also feature a terrace or balcony.
While all of that is true, sometimes it’s nice to take a break from cooking for yourself and venture out to one of the local restaurants. The location of Ten93 Queen West offers such a huge number of delectable food options — your only problem might be deciding on a place to eat.
Toronto Life recently published its list of the top 20 new restaurants in the city. As a testament to Ten93 Queen West’s foodie credentials, three of the restaurants on the list are practically next door to this new condominium.
Here’s a look at the three restaurants that will neighbour the community, and two more that are only a short walk away:
Restaurant-owner Jay Carter trained with master chef Susur Lee before transitioning to Centro where he was executive chef, and last summer he finally opened his own restaurant called Dandylion (1198 Queen Street West). His first menu drew from elements of Nordic, Canadian and Asian cuisine. Keep an eye out for highlights like smoked trout and fermented bread.
While the name ironically implies a stuffy, high-end establishment, the atmosphere at Bar Fancy (1070 Queen Street West) is anything but. Patrons sit in folding chairs while waiters wear vintage t-shirts and caps to create a laid-back environment. If you’re looking for a relaxed hangout spot and some comfort-food like fried chicken and cheese on toast, Bar Fancy is the place.
If you’re in the mood for a friendly and intimate dining experience, look no further than Nana (785 Queen Street West). Not only does the chef and owner, Monte Wan, make friends with everyone in the restaurant, but he also makes a unique and satisfying version of pad Thai he calls “pad mama.”
The short walk from Ten93 Queen West to hot-spot Boralia (59 Ossington Avenue) is well worth it. The restaurant’s natural decor will transport you to the forests of BC, the place the husband and wife owners left for Toronto. The menu serves up some interesting yet traditional dishes like pigeon pie, smoked whitefish and stuffed onions.
Just a hop, skip and a jump over to Dundas Street West from Queen will take you all the way to Argentina. Well, it will take you to the rustic, Argentine-style grill house, Branca (1727 Dundas Street West), which is close enough. Suckling pig, lamb’s leg, chicken, ribs abound, making it the perfect place for a protein-packed feast.
Or, if you just feel like being a homebody for the night, the kitchens in the suites at Ten93 are indeed impressive. The kitchens’ artistic vibe fits into the eclectic and colourful Queen West neighbourhood seamlessly.
