Another day, another Karl Fischer-designed rental in Greenpoint.
A six-story, 17-unit mixed-use building is planned for 501 Leonard Street, near McCarren Park. Also known as 544 Manhattan Avenue, the project will have 15,545 square feet of residential space, with parking and a second-floor terrace, according to this plan exam application filed September 20th. There will also be an eatery on the ground level with outdoor seating.
The lot, located between Driggs and Engert avenues, was formerly home to a one-story mechanic’s garage. A demolition permit for the auto shop was filed May 6th.
The property traded for $3.5 million in December 2012, according to public records. The developer is Queens-based 501 Leonard Street LLC.
