The final touches hadn’t yet been added to the LINK Condos + Towns presentation centre before interested buyers gathered outside its doors, eager to attend the project’s Dinner X Design event last night.
Developer Adi Development Group hosted the friends and family preview to celebrate their latest community, a thoughtfully-designed set of condos and townhomes in Burlington.
To call the event a success is underselling it, as crowds arrived at the event for 6pm to purchase a unit, and within the hour, the suites were already flying off the shelves.
“It’s the location and the design,” said Tariq Adi, the CEO of Adi Development, when asked why he believes crowds poured in as quickly as they did. “I think it’s the fact that we’re linked to nature and so close to a creek — you’re not going to find that in the City of Toronto.”
Local artists from No Vacancy, a community-based arts organization in Burlington, were on scene painting works inspired by the project’s natural surroundings. Once complete, they’ll be donated to the Canadian Diabetes Association. Even the foodie fare by Matt Kershaw (think balsamic onion risotto and geometric-shaped fruit kabobs) was prepared to resemble LINK’s contemporary architecture.
Take a peek at some of the pics we snapped from last night’s event below:
LINK, designed by Toronto’s RAW Design, features tiered floors at shifting angles and modern balcony pods that protrude out to maximize views of Bronte Creek.
“The building is seen as two enclosing arms looking towards the creek with the amenities space the focus in the middle,” said RAW Design’s Roland Rom Colthoff. “Everybody who lives there will feel like part of that and the motion will feel totally natural.”
Since linkage is the structure’s fundamental concept, the building will also feature bridges that connect the towers together and light up at night with energy-saving LED bulbs. “It will look like art installations between the buildings,” Colthoff said.
The new community will be located at Dundas Street and Sutton Drive. Suites range from 435 to 1396 square feet, and prices start in the $170,000s.
