Construction on Mark on 10th, the 35-storey, $100 million condo development in downtown Calgary by Qualex Landmark, is well underway following a massive concrete pour that occurred over the weekend.
Roughly 800 cubic metres of concrete were poured continuously by two trucks backed up to one of two pumps at all times. A total of 76 concrete deliveries were made to the site with 31 trucks in rotation. Concrete was sourced from two concrete batching plants that were dedicated to the project.
Amazingly, an average of 100 metres cubed per hour was poured into the site for the core footing, the largest load-bearing part of the tower.
So, what does this all mean? It means that Mark on 10th is on scheduled for completion in 2015. And while the vast majority of homes have already sold out, there are still a number of units remaining — which you can learn all about by visiting the sales centre at 1120 10th Avenue SW, open from 12pm to 5pm daily except Fridays.
In the meantime, enjoy a few pictures of last weekend’s arduous and impressive construction process.
