Following the successful launch of the first three phases, Minto Communities is now selling North Oak Condos, the fourth phase of its popular Oakvillage development.
The master-planned community at Trafalgar Road and Dundas Street East featured a collection of traditional, back-to-back, rear-lane and stacked townhomes in the first three phases. Consisting of a 20- and 15-storey tower, North Oak marks the developer’s first high-rise condominium in the community.
The project will also debut a geoexchange energy system in addition to wellness-enhancing design and amenities. Geoexchange energy systems, which reduce carbon emissions by as much as 70 percent, are becoming increasingly important solutions for high-rise properties seeking to prioritize sustainability.

Commonly used in Nordic countries, geoexchange energy systems leverage the earth’s stable underground temperatures to provide heating or cooling year-round in a more energy efficient way, substantially reducing the amount of fossil fuels used. The system will also help keep utility costs low and is designed to connect to future towers in Oakvillage, creating a community energy system aligned with goals set out in the Town of Oakville’s Community Energy Plan.
Designed by BDP Quadrangle, the first tower stands 20 storeys tall and houses 207 units. The façade utilizes articulation, metal accents, and precast brick to provide tactility to the project, creating a line that reflects the neighbouring developments and respects the surrounding low-rise community.
The key themes of resilience, wellness, biophilic design and connectivity culminate in North Oak’s “Neighbourhood Nest” concept that features a double-height ceiling atrium which will connect the lobbies of North Oak and its sister building. Designed as a social space, the Neighbourhood Nest also serves as a co-working space with a back-up power connection, communications system, and critical goods refrigeration for use during emergencies.
“As we’ve seen in the last year, there will always be times of unpredictability, where community members will need access to deeper support,” said Michelle Xuereb, Director of Innovation, BDP Quadrangle. “The Neighbourhood Nest is our response to this human need. It’s a flexible space which will be used everyday casually, but it’s also there and ready to serve during times of turbulence.”
Residents will also have access to a state-of-the-art fitness centre with a yoga and pilates studio, sauna and cardio machines. Two party rooms are available for entertaining including one that opens onto an outdoor terrace complete with a pergola, barbecues and plenty of seating.
Priced from the mid-$400,00s, available suites include one-bedroom, loft, two-bedroom and two-bedroom-plus-den floorplans. Interiors fuse natural light and organic materials to bring a calm and inviting feel to suites, while a variety of curated colour palettes by Figure3 suit all tastes and styles.
