Stella Tower, the Hell’s Kitchen brother-from-the-same-mother to Walker Tower, has launched sales.
Located at 425 West 50th Street between Ninth and Tenth avenues, the 18-story development has 51 condos. Originally designed in 1927 by Art Deco architect Ralph Walker, the building was converted by JDS Development Group and Property Markets Group. Cetra/CRI Architecture PPLC is the architect.
The one- to three-bedroom units range in size from 1,000 to 2,200 square feet, and pricing for available residences runs from $1.8 million to $6.2 million. The penthouses measure up to 3,600 square feet and are slated to ask between $10 million to $14 million.
The developers are restoring the building’s original Art Deco detailing and brick facade, and they’re bringing back the structure’s crown, which was removed in the 1950s.
Interiors will have tilt-and-turn windows, with ceiling heights from 10 feet to almost 14 feet, custom hand-laid oak flooring, custom lighting, paneled solid eight-foot doors, Nest smart thermostats and in-unit washer/dryer. Kitchens will be fitted with Smallbone cabinetry with oak frames, concrete countertops and Miele appliances. Master baths are decked with steam showers, radiant floor heating, “Black Zeus marble in a chevron mosaic pattern,” glass-enclosed showers and showerheads with thermostatic controls. Secondary baths will have marble mosaic floors. Select apartments feature fireplaces, and some will come with private outdoor space.
Amenities include a 24-hour attended lobby, gym, lounge with pantry and bar, bicycle storage, cold storage and an outdoor garden lounge.
