Samm Developments has unveiled its sleek sales office and showroom for The Kennedys, a master-planned condo community coming to Kennedy Road and Highway 401.
“We took inspiration from many different sources,” said Melandro Quilatan, a principal partner at Tomas Pearce Interior Design Consulting Inc, the firm behind the lux two-tone space as well as The Kennedy’s future common areas.
“We look at the architecture of the building itself… we look at the community, location, the street name, the target audience, a brand — we look at all those things,” he added at a private showing recently.
Quilatan and company channelled the aesthetics of French fashion label Chanel when coming up with their vision for the project.
“You can see the packaging of Chanel, white with black edges, took precedence in our initial concept,” said Quilatan, accompanied by Brian Woodrow, a Tomas Pearce senior designer.
A bold concierge desk greets visitors at the new sales centre off Village Green Square, and it is among the touches that carries this theme throughout the sales centre, which also includes a model kitchen and lounge, cappuccino bar and bathroom vignettes.
Not only does the sales office gives visitors an idea of what to expect from units at the development, it also foreshadows the work Tomas Pearce is doing on the 7,000-square-foot lobby and 8,500-square-foot fifth-floor amenity level.
“We start applying some of the design elements that you see surrounding us today into our common amenities,” says Quilatan, outlining part of Tomas Pearce’s design process for the project.
Amenities on the fifth floor at The Kennedys include a pool, complete with a hot tub area, change rooms and shower and sauna facilities, large gym, outdoor terrace, chef’s kitchen, dining room, and multi-purpose rooms.
“There’s also going to be a very important karaoke room,” Woodrow pointed out, noting the room would have a multi-purpose stage and can double as a media room.
“For a building of this nature and where we are, what we’re really doing is bringing a sense of urban luxury to this,” said Woodrow.
“The amenities are really nicely detailed, well thought out, and it’s providing a great deal of value that you’re not really going to find typically,” he adds.
Prices at The Kennedys start, currently in the pre-construction stage at 2035 Kennedy Road, in the low-$200,000s, with two-bedroom suites from the low-$300,000s.
The first phase will include 663 suites spread across two 35-storey towers anchored by a shared five-storey podium.
