Anyone who follows design on BuzzBuzzHome News will know that we’re a little bit obsessed with contemporary Scandinavian style. We lust after high-priced throw blankets and keep battery-powered tealight candles on our desks to induce feelings of hygge. So when IKEA announced they were releasing NORNÄS, a new collection of long-lasting, natural pinewood furniture, we were overjoyed.
This chest of four drawers and two compartments is made of blonde, arctic pine from northern Sweden. The material is versatile and durable, both key elements of Scandinavian design. By allowing the natural knots to show in the wood, IKEA was able to maximize the material use and minimize waste. The dresser also offers customizable storage — in the picture above, a $12 NORNÄS wine rack was used to separate linens.

NORNÄS will officially debut in North America next month. The four drawer chest retails for $249 USD or about $300 CAD. Needless to say, we’ll be pining over it until it’s ours.
