These LED lamps are called “water balloons” for a very simple reason: they looks like balloons being filled with water underneath a faucet.
To achieve the playful and alarming design (we all know electricity and water don’t mix), Japan-based Torafu Architects filled each glass bulb with tiny air bubbles before having them back-lit with an LED light source.
The lights were created in collaboration with a glass artist for the 2013 9lass exhibition.
