A surface parking lot catered to tourists visiting the Hollywood Walk of Fame or Jimmy Kimmel Live! could be transformed into a mixed-use development featuring ground-floor retail and 137 apartments.
Dubbed The Bonnie Hollywood, 6831 W. Hawthorn Avenue is a proposed eight-story building designed by Nadel, Inc. The family behind the development company, Yorkwood, LLC, has owned the property for more than 30 years and is now seeking to enhance the 0.57-acre site with a mix of housing types and approximately 1,207 square feet of ground-floor commercial space.

The Bonnie Hollywood would incorporate 54 studios, 56 one-bedroom units, 20 two-bedroom units, and seven three-bedroom units, with 14 apartments set aside for extremely low-income households. There would be 150 vehicle parking spaces spread throughout one at-grade and two subterranean levels, with an additional 106 bicycle parking spaces provided.
Residents would have access to a variety of lifestyle amenities, starting with a ground-level lobby and lounge. The podium level would house a gym and a pool deck, complete with a double-sided fireplace, ample seating, dining tables, day beds, an artificial turf lawn and barbecue area.

A sky deck that faces the Hollywood Sign and Griffith Observatory would tout a barbecue and bar counter, dining table, lounge seating and fire pit. Private balconies in select residences would provide additional outdoor access.
The contemporary mid-rise structure would showcase a variety of colors and building materials. Black-trimmed windows, glass balcony guardrails and yellow privacy screens would add dimension and contrast, while a zigzagging exterior staircase would create interest on the northeast façade.
