Long-fallow 180 Myrtle Avenue in Downtown Brooklyn is finally getting the plow.
John Catsimatidis’ Red Apple Group is proposing a 15-story, 213-unit rental tower designed by Dattner Architects at the site.
The project will have 171,890 square feet of residential space and 10,988 square feet of retail, according to the plan exam application filed November 21st. There will be storage, 129-car parking, a gym, lounge, playroom and a roof terrace at the 156-foot-tall building.
Catsimatidis has been planning a big development at the lot for at least six years, according to Brownstoner.
Other Red Apple seeds in the area include 205-unit, 15-story rental 81 Fleet Place, which will start leasing in 2015, The Brooklyn Eagle reported. Another development site at 86 Fleet Place is slated for a 400,000-square-foot tower that will likely be a combination of rentals and condos, according to The Brooklyn Eagle.
