Originally launched in 2017, Glen Agar has transformed the site of a former elementary school into a family-oriented community of new single homes. The master-planned community by Minto Communities is a rare offering in Toronto’s real estate market with its selection of detached residences on tree-lined streets and cul-de-sacs, all within an existing community in Central Etobicoke. The development is nearly sold out and construction is almost complete with many homeowners already moved in.
The homes at Glen Agar boast three-storey designs on 30-foot lots. Exteriors consist of a mix of modern and traditional designs, including Tudor and Georgian-inspired architecture, characterized by peaked roofs, wrought-iron accents and brick and stone facades with precast detailing. The modern elevations sport a more minimalist style with flat roofs, dark-trimmed windows and warm wood accents.
Construction on the project commenced in 2018 and today the majority of the homes are already built — only a handful of residences have yet to be occupied. The streets, cul-de-sacs and sidewalks are all paved and streetlights have been installed, however, the neighbourhood park on the corner of Glen Agar Drive and Chimney Swift Court is still covered by a mountain of excavated dirt and construction equipment. As with most low-rise developments, sod and driveway installation will be completed last, although some homes along Glen Agar Drive already have their lawns in place and driveways paved.
One of the homes situated on Glen Agar Drive houses the presentation centre and doubles as the model home. This unit is known as the Fitzgibbon and is currently listed for sale by the developer for $1,599,900. It features 3,588 square feet of living space and a modern exterior with a mix of stone, brick and wood accents.
