Modern Spaces has released new renderings and details for its conversion of a two-story office building in Long Island City (LIC) dubbed The Addition. The conversion will “add” four stories and bring 94 new luxury rentals to the neighborhood.
Developed by The Hakimian Organization, The Addition is located at 33-01 38th Avenue in LIC. Units boast high ceilings and brushed oak flooring throughout. Kitchens are stocked with an array of top-notch appliances and every apartment features a washer and dryer.
Some of the development’s notable amenities include a picnic area, a vintage arcade, rooftop terraces and a screening room.
LIC offers residents easy access to mass transit, and is a few minutes from both Midtown East and West in Manhattan. Both NYC-area airports — LaGuardia and JFK — are a short cab ride away, and are also accessible via public transit.
Once NYC’s best kept secret, the area has undergone a massive transformation over the last few years with more and more new construction developments reshaping the former industrial skyline of LIC. The neighborhood is fast becoming one of Queens’ most popular and priciest residential areas, with asking rents inching closer to Brooklyn and Manhattan levels.
The Addition is now leasing with move-ins scheduled to begin on July 1.
