Fresh construction shots have surfaced for luxury condo project Quarry Springs in Bethesda.
Located at 8101 River Road, the 13-acre property by 1788 and IHP Capital Partners will have 97 units spread across four buildings when complete. The $110 million first residential phase, which consists of 50 units in two buildings, broke ground in March 2014 and is slated for completion in Fall 2015. The second phase, with about 47 units, is scheduled to start construction in 2016.
Miami-based Robert M. Swedroe Architects & Planners and New York-based Trimbach designed the gated community. The luxury residences, offered in two-bedroom and three-bedroom layouts, range from 2,200 square feet to more than 4,500 square feet. Select units have wraparound outdoor space.
The homes boast private garage-to-foyer elevators, 10-foot ceilings, wide plank hardwood flooring, full-height solid wood doors, vented gas fireplaces with stone hearths and kitchens with stone countertops, Wolf six-burner cooktops, Sub-Zero refrigerators, wine coolers and solid wood cabinetry. Some buyers will have the option to add wet bars and exterior fireplaces.
Amenities include a clubhouse with library, catering kitchen, game room, grand salon and full bar/lounge; 6,000-square-foot gym with yoga studio and spa with steam room, sauna and showers. Residents also get landscaped grounds, walking trails, a 50-foot, three-tiered waterfall, stream and resort-style outdoor pool. Also included: concierge services, valet parking and full-time security attendant.
Woodside Ventures of Chevy Chase first proposed the development in 2011, with plans to begin construction the same year, the Washington Business Journal reported. After the project was delayed due to presale requirements, 1788 Holdings and IHP took over. Pricing will reportedly be approximately $800 per square foot, or about $2.5 million for a 3,200-square-foot pad.
1788 is also developing high-end project The Lauren at 4934 Hampden Lane, where a penthouse is asking a record-breaking $10.5 million.
